There are a number of combinations of garden plants that do well together in pots. Here are 10 combinations:
- Sunflower, squash and peas. Similar to the three sisters that were planted by the native Americas when the Europeans first settled in America.
- Two peppers do well in pots. They also do well planted together in the garden.
- Combinations of herbs, such as Basil, Rosemary and Thyme.
- Edible flowers such as pansies work well with shorter herbs.
- Cucumbers can be trellised and grown in pots. Plant dill in the pots for a pickle combination.
- Red potatoes in the bottom of the pot and peas on the top, makes a good combination. Crowd the potatoes to keep them small.
- Lettuce, Kale and Spinach is a nice salad combination.
- For a spicier salad try arugula, cress and mustard greens like sweet ruby.
- I have not tried carrots and radishes in pots. But they work well together in the field
- Roma tomatoes and basil go well together.
