A small squash can cook in an hour, a large squash may take two. Cook whole and well, for optimum stringyness.
- Use butter. Butter is good on about everything.
- Pasta sauce either tomato based or a cream sauce.
- Season and eat cold (after cooking)
- Mix with tomato sauce and cheese and bake in the oven.
- Mix with cheese and cream cheese for a macaroni and cheese alternative.
- Mix with spinach and olive oil.
- Toss with kale and a sweet dressing for a great faux pasta salad.
- Add broccoli florets and carrots
- Add zucchini and patty pan squash. For a double squash dish.
- Mash the spaghetti squash. It won't be very spaghetti like, but it is good.
