The Magic of Magnesium
The vast majority of Americans, as much
as 80%, are deficient in magnesium making them vulnerable to serious
health hazards. Magnesium makes up close to 1 percent of our body
weight and is essential mineral for managing more than 300 enzymatic
reactions in the human body. So a shortage can cause serious problems
such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and other
diseases.
It can also speed up aging by shrinking bones. Every cell in the human body needs magnesium to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) a molecule involved in energy storage in our bodies, like a battery in your car.

Most people are deficient because their
diet is lacking in magnesium, which comes from eating processed foods
instead of fresh, wholesome ingredients. Food sources of magnesium
include:
- Almonds, peanuts
- Avocado
- Greens such as spinach, arugula, lettuce, beans and peas
- Halibut
- Lentils
- Long-grain brown rice
- Potatoes, baked with skin
- Unrefined sea salt is also a good source of magnesium and 80 essential minerals
In the next several posts I am
summarizing and quoting significantly from an article by Dr. David
Brownstein titled Heal Your Body Through the Magic of Magnesium,
written in December 2012. The comments about vegetables, chlorophyl
and plants are mine.
