Tippecanoe and Edible Crayons

Just so you know I was listening on our recent Purdue campus tour with Reed. Here are some little known facts.

Purdue is in Tippecanoe County in Indiana. I just thought this was curious.

Purdue is a public Land Grant College like Iowa State and University of Minnesota. Abraham Lincoln created land grant schools. Purdue was started in 1869.

Twenty three prominent astronauts were educated at Purdue including Neil Armstrong.

Purdue does not have a music program. Sorry Andrea. You can get a music minor. I don't know how that works.

Purdue has a Veteranary College like Iowa State.

Orville Redenbock developed his popcorn at Purdue.

Amelia Earhart was a guest professor at Purdue and was on the way to Purdue when she disappeared.

Purdue students recently developed edible crayons from soybeans. I wonder if the color corresponds to the flavor. Sounds yummmy.

Purdue has their own jet, for education purposes of course. They also have their own airport. I guess they have their own astronauts.

Now you know all I know.
